Hailing from Warsaw, Poland, Neon Müd play dirty, swampy rock ‘n’ roll full of stoner mud. Their music incorporates motifs from genres such as stoner, doom, and sludge metal, as well as classic hard rock with blues roots. The band features musicians known from bands such as Violent Creed, Pavement Pizza, Hate, and Banisher. Their debut EP, »Out Of The Mud«, was released in 2022.
Neon Müd’s debut full-length album, »Mud And Black Water«, just dropped on November 18th, 2025. The band worked on it for two years. It is a record of their own work, play, doubts, style-building, observations of the world, self-reflection, and inner turmoil.
The cover art for »Mud And Black Water« is made by Robert A. von Ritter. The artist is known for his work with numerous black and death metal bands, including In Twilight’s Embrace, Witchmaster, Ragehammer, and Owls Woods Graves. His work is inspired by folklore, darkness, and medieval aesthetics.
Neon Müd are Zwierzak (vocals, guitar), Bejman (bass, backing vocals) and Piter (drums, backing vocals).
Can you say a few words about your band?
Hi, we are Neon Müd and we love to imagine how post-apocalyptic reality would look like in Poland.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
We started playing together during pandemics so first we have to deal with all the pandemics stuff like not getting caught by police when you’re trying to get to the rehearsal room, second we couldn’t play concerts for quite a long time. We played one illegal just for friends in our rehearsal room and we had to wait almost a year for normal debut.
What can you be most proud of so far?
We’re really happy that when people see us on the gigs they are really in awe. We have coherent image, we’re have our own lightning, we’re rocking like crazy and everything is well prepared like on the big professional concerts.
What was your biggest regret?
I am the worst person to answer this question cause I rarely regret anything and think about past :/ maybe not being the best social media person that is? Or just finding someone who can do this for us…
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We played two big tours and I can’t say which one was better. First one in autumn 2023 was with Weird Tales and some gigs with Weedcraft and the second with Taxi Caveman in spring 2025. We had a lot of fun on both, all the bands we played with are our good friends and we have sometimes too much fun together. One thing better on the second tour was increasing the standard of our accommodation from some muddy basements and ratholes to normal hostel rooms 😀

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
For me personally was whole stoner scene. I used to play mostly in punk bands and I didn’t know many people from stoner scene. I met so many great people from the beginning of Neon Mud and had so much fun it’s even a little touching.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Now I’m in my punk/garage period (I don’t know why – it should have ended in the end of summer and now I should be in my black metal period). My favorite bands now are Civic, Viagra Boys, Snooper, Black Lips etc. and of course my all time favourites Turbonegro.
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
To rock like crazy on the scene. Staying in the back just gently caressing your bass is meh.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Detroit style pizza, getting drunk on the weekdays when you start work at 7am next day.
Can you say something more about current music scene in Warsaw?
It’s huge!!! Warsaw is Poland’s largest music center. A huge number of great bands perform constantly. And their levels are constantly increasing. Perhaps because people are getting older 😀 The only problem is a lack of clubs. Most are booked months in advance.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
This year would be hard cause Piter (drummer) is the stage manager for one huge band and he is touring till late December and Arek disappeared in wilderness. But next year we start with some gigs each month and of course our big release party in Warsaw. We long for all the festival offers in the summer! Call me!
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Playing a lot of gigs, going on some tour abroad and playing a lot of festivals during the summer!
How can people best support your band?
Going on gigs – it’s the most uplifting thing to see the club full of people, headbanging or moshing.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thanks for being with us and for supporting what we do. Come to our concerts and support local music!
