Winecraft is a four-piece vintage rock band from Strasbourg, France. Emerging on the rock scene in 2024, they have been steadily gaining a strong reputation with shows played across France, Belgium and Germany. On stage, the band consistently wins over audiences with a powerful sound, strong presence and a clear sense of musical maturity.

Winecraft’s music is served strong and slow-aged in ’70s oak barrels, in the footsteps of bands like Deep Purple, Motörhead or Graveyard. Bringing the strong experience of its band members on the table, the French quartet uses those vintage roots to sing a sharp and actual social anger.

The band released its debut EP called »Witchcraft ‘N Excess Wine« in October 2024 followed by a live album »Turning Water Into Wine« (2025) and singles like »Mother Green And Her Killing Machine« (2025) & »(We’re Not) Out Of The Woods« (2026).

Winecraft consists of David Bour on bass & vocals, Nathan Lorber on keyboards, Johann Lorber on guitar & vocals and Eliott Gunther on drums.

Can you please say a few words about your band?
WINECRAFT is a four-piece hard rock band from Eastern France. Johann Lorber plays guitar, Nathan Lorber plays keyboards, Eliott Gunther plays drums, and I, David Bour, play bass and sing. We play vintage rock inspired by the spirit of the ’70s, but with lyrics rooted in today’s world. Our music blends class struggle, humor, and raw rock ‘n’ roll energy. Since forming, we’ve played around fifty shows across France, Germany, and Belgium, and we’re driven by one simple mission: keeping rock alive.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Finding our own sound. We all come from different musical backgrounds, so the biggest challenge was creating a common language that brings our individual influences together while giving the band its own identity.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Staying true to our mission of keeping rock alive. We’ve carried that spirit for years, and we plan to keep doing it for many more. Seeing more and more people connect with what we’re doing is the greatest reward.

What was your biggest regret?
We don’t really believe in regrets. Every mistake, every difficult gig, and every setback has helped shape the band. If anything, we only wish we could spend even more time on the road.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Opening for Strange Kind Of Women in front of nearly 1,000 people in April 2025 was definitely a highlight. But we also love sweaty club shows like the ones at MacLaren’s in Sarreguemines, where the audience is right in front of us. And we’ll never forget our first festival, Metal Frenzy in Germany in June 2024, because it felt like a real milestone for the band.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
I’ve been part of the underground rock and metal scene for about fifteen years, so it’s hard to surprise me. But I’m always happy to see how alive and vibrant the scene remains. New bands keep emerging, and new audiences keep discovering them. We need both.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Eliott has been listening to Rose Tattoo’s debut album, Johann is spinning »Rising« by Rainbow, Nathan is into »Thick As A Brick« by Jethro Tull, and I’ve been listening to »Float Along – Fill Your Lungs« by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
“Don’t have idols – have inspirations. Then follow your own path.”

What are your guilty pleasures?
Good beer, of course! But honestly, we don’t really believe in guilty pleasures. If you enjoy something, own it.

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Strasbourg?
Eastern France has a fantastic underground rock scene. We’ve got bands like YOJIMBO with their prog/stoner rock, TRIP and their ’70s-inspired psychedelic rock, THE HOOK bringing back classic ’60s rock ‘n’ roll, THE NUCLEONS PROJECT playing garage rock, and WILLxSMIC delivering furious powerviolence with just bass, drums, and vocals. It’s a very supportive community where everyone helps each other move forward.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We’ll be playing shows across Eastern France, Belgium, and Switzerland throughout the year. The best way to keep up with new dates is through our social media.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Our biggest goal is the release of our debut full-length album, »Wild Wine Quest«, this November. After that, we want to play as many shows as possible and bring these new songs to audiences everywhere.

How can people best support your band?
Come to our shows, buy our records and merch, follow us online, and most importantly, tell your friends about us. Word of mouth has always been one of the strongest forces in rock music.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thank you for believing in live music and supporting independent bands. Rock is still alive because of people like you. Keep coming to shows, keep discovering new artists, and we’ll see you somewhere on the road!
