No good story begins with restraint.

Her Name Was Fire emerged in 2016 from the intricacies of Lisbon, born out of a late-night bar conversation between two friends. João Campos and Tiago Lopes joined forces to create one of the most singular duos in rock. Armed with massive, screaming low-end guitar and thunderous drums, the band tears through sonic universes spanning grunge, prog rock, blues and stoner, laced with melodic, portentous vocals.

Fully DIY, both members handle design, illustration, filmmaking and all creative dimensions of their music. They’ve shared stages with Mondo Generator (Nick Oliveri, ex-QOTSA), The Vintage Caravan, Radio Moscow and The Black Mirrors, bringing raw high-energy performances to venues and festivals across Portugal and Europe.

After the pandemic forced a pause, the duo used the silence to dig deeper, emerging with a new creative hunger and a batch of songs that hit harder than anything before. »Facekicker« and »Head On The Wall« are the first proof. A new EP »Obsidian Light« arrived on May 8th 2026, 5 songs of unrelenting stoner and psychedelic rock, and the road is calling again.
