Tokyo, Japan based stoner/doom/sludge metal band Green Tripe presents their debut album, entitled »Desert Kief Trip«, which was released on February 15th, 2026 via Doom Fujiyama.

Green Tripe is a stoner/doom/sludge metal band from Tokyo, Japan. Formed in June 2022, the band was originally established as a death-doom project by musicians connected to the prominent Japanese death metal band Frostvore. Over time, their signature sound expanded significantly, leaning heavily into fuzzy riffs, heavy distortion, and slowed-down pacing. They describe their specific blend of genres as a mix of stoner, sludge, doom, hardcore, and what they playfully dub “doom dragoncore”.

After »Doom Dragon Rising« split with Abiuro & Heteropsy and »Bong Surfing« EP in 2024, the band contributed their track »Psychedelic Gun« to the underground compilation »Doom Fujiyama Vol. 5«. Green Tripe released their debut full-length album »Desert Kief Trip« on February 15, 2026. The record features tracks like »Hotel Grand MA Juana«, »Pot Dunes«, and »Stoner Henge«.

The band frequently plays venues and festivals focused on the heavy metal scene in Tokyo, and in August 2026 they shared the stage with Nick Oliveri (formerly of Queens Of The Stone Age and Kyuss) on his Japanese tour. Green Tripe are confirmed to perform at the winter edition of Tokyo Doom Fest 2026.
