“Some random guys from Switzerland playing some random rock and roll.”
High-energy psychedelic stoner rock outfit Mystic Sons has announced their highly anticipated new EP, »The Cat«, scheduled for release on LP, CD and all major streaming platforms on November 6th, 2026.
The brand new four-track EP captures the band’s signature raw energy and heavy grooves, bridging the gap between raw DIY experimentation and polished studio production. »The Cat« EP was tracked split between the band’s own gritty rehearsal space and the renowned Blend Studio in Lutry, Switzerland.
To bring the sonic vision to life, Mystic Sons reunited with their ultimate creative team. The record features the engineering, production, and mixing mastery of Jan “Magic” Saunier, alongside the precise, powerful mastering of Raphaël Bovey.
“Jan and Raphaël are the ultimate winning duo for us,” the band shared. “They know exactly how to capture our live energy and elevate it to the next level.”
Adding a fresh layer to their heavy soundscapes, the band welcomed guest vocalist Eloïse Fournier, who contributed stunning backing vocals to the project. Recorded in an intimate, makeshift booth inside the band’s rehearsal space – nestled tightly between a shelf and a board of insulation material – Fournier’s studio debut proved to be a standout highlight of the sessions. “We are absolutely in love with the result and so incredibly grateful for her talent,” said the band.
Keeping the creative control entirely close to home, the striking album artwork for the new EP was completely designed and conceptualized by the band’s own bassist Cagoule, perfectly visualising the auditory trip within.
