Doomed Confessionary: Anarkangela & four lords of the red plague (Elizabeltz)

Elizabeltz is Basque Country’s best-kept secret. It’s a fairly recent formation, although the members have a wealth of experience. Musicians get together over Yersinia Pestis, making the unflawed dark mechanism happen. This light and shadow coalescence has stood out for renowned media like Mondo Sonoro or Metal Hammer. There’s no doubt that they possess an inherent need to shock their listeners.
Elizabeltz are back with their sophomore full-length album, »Alabaren«, which was just released on March 22nd, 2024 via On Fire Records.
Can you say a few words about your band?
I can say that we have a new album called »Alabaren«, that every lover of rock and dark music should listen to.
What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
The biggest challenge was to find the time to make the album. It was a difficult birth, but in the end the daughter was born.
What can you be most proud of so far?
We are happy not to take steps backwards, and to deviate from the norm in order to make progress.
What was your biggest regret?
We don’t regret anything, any bad step taken in the past serves to make us what we are today… The past is the past.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
The concerts of this tour that started in February are really the best since the band started. The reception from the audience is very good, the band is very solid, and the performance is the most theatrical and shocking so far.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
In recent years, I have enjoyed discovering bands like Igorrr, Zeal and Ardor, Imperial Triumphant, Tribulation or Bullets Of Misery.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
At the moment I listen to bands like Shining (Nor), Pizzeria Moloch, Behemoth, White Ward, the first albums of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd or The Doors. But what I listen to the most is the improv radio show called Nadie sabe nada.
Can you say something more about the music scene in Basque Country?
There is a great scene, but there is little audience for it. In the last few years, attendance has dropped a lot.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
This year we will be touring the Basque Country and Spain until after the summer. And in autumn we will also go to France and Portugal, we have dates in Bordeaux or Figuerira da foz.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
In 2025 we would like to tour all over Europe, we would like to visit Slovenia 😉 and we would like to play in small or big festivals. After that we could start working on a third album.
How can people best support your band?
Sharing as much as possible our videos and music on social networks, we would really appreciate it.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Live life today as if there is no tomorrow.
