Says the band: “We’re delighted to present the artwork (by Guillaume Rimgaud) and tracklist for our new album, »In Situ«, due out on November 7th!
For this release, Maudits deliberately adopted a spontaneous approach by composing the majority of the tracks in a very short period of time, pushing the concept to the extreme with the eponymous interlude, recorded live outdoor…
Also, for the first time in the band’s history, two tracks feature full vocals, including the cover of Portishead’s »Roads«, as well as the surprise »Carré d’as«, to be discovered in due time.
Maudits continues to carve out its own uncompromising voice, in a sensitive and unclassifiable cinematic style.”
Courtesy of Sozius PR:
Maudits emerges as a bold new instrumental project. Fusing influences from Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Opeth, Hans Zimmer and Portishead, their music traverses the realms of doom, post-rock, progressive and ambient, crafting a soundscape both epic and intimate.
For the first time in the band’s history, »In Situ« features two fully sung tracks, including a haunting rendition of Portishead’s »Roads«, marking a surprising and transformative step in their sonic journey. Sensitive, cinematic, and defying categorization, Maudits invites you to plunge into a post-metal universe where emotion and atmosphere reign supreme.
You can pre-order the album on CD (Digisleeve) / LP (Limited Splatter) and digital HERE.
