American heavy metal band Mourn The Light premiere their new EP »The Magic Is Calling« in full ahead of its release this Friday, January 10th, 2025 via Argonauta Records.

The band comments: “We are currently hard at work recording our next full-length album, this EP is a way to introduce you to our new vocalist Andy Small (Spellmaster, Olyphant) and give you a taste of what’s to come on our next album.

New England heavy metal band Mourn The Light have been delivering their brand of metal to the world since 2018. After their debut EP »Weight Of The World« and the follow up split EP with Oxblood Forge, Mourn The Light recorded their critically acclaimed debut full-length »Suffer, Then We’re Gone« and signed a worldwide deal with Argonauta Records (Italy). Since then their sound has shifted from a more doom styling to a traditional, almost power metal sound without abandoning the doom entirely. Mourn The Light have since released the follow up EP »Stare Into The Face Of Death« which found more praise from critics in the world of underground metal.

Mourn The Light have toured the US and Canada over their 6 years of existence and have made festival appearances at New England Stoner And Doom Festival, SXSW Stoner Jam, Stormbringer Metal Festival, RPM Fest, and Legions Of Metal Fest, not to mention several opening slots for notable metal acts including Artillery, Anvil, Haunt, The Obsessed, Cloven Hoof, Extinction AD, Ironflame and more.

In 2024 the band saw the departure of vocalist Andrew Stachelek while prepping their next full-length album. Mourn The Light quickly recruited vocalist Andy Small (Spellmaster, Olyphant) and continued with the new album and are playing select shows. Mourn The Light plan to release an EP to introduce the new vocalist, while they continue recording the new full-length, on Argonauta Records called »The Magic Is Calling«. This EP will include new single »False Prophecies«, two older MTL songs with Andy on vocals, and a cover of the Tony Martin era Black Sabbath song »Headless Cross«. The EP will be available on CD and digital everywhere.
