Doomed Nation

Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Peter, Danno, Alex, Robin & Erik (Shit The Cow)

Shit The Cow is a five-piece hard rock/stoner/garage/punk band from Sweden. With roots in 70’s rock, 80’s metal, stoner and punk, Shit The Cow are trying to forge all these influences into something they call scrapyard rock.

Their latest release »Killing It« dropped on August 28th, 2025 via Veritabel Fonogram. Recorded in the band’s own studio Rissna City located deep in the northern woods of Sweden. Mastered by Daniel Mikaelsson at Nevo Mastering.

Shit The Cow are Peter Söderberg (vocals, guitar), Daniel Kjellberg (guitar), Alexandra Lindqvist (vocals), Robin Lindqvist (drums) and Erik Rosenberg (bass, screams).

Can you please say a few words about your band?
We started as a 2-man project with just Pete and Danno, releasing the first smacker called »Volume/Cow« in 2012. Then, when Erik briefly moved back to Sweden from San Diego in 2013, he brought on Robin and Alex, and we recorded our first full band release called »Salt Of The Earth«. Since then, we have released over 10 EPs and full-length albums, usually recorded in our studio Rissna City. We are really a community of musicians and people who just want to write good riffs and hang out. Which is why we always try to include these people, friends who play and want to participate in our recordings. The label Veritabel Fonogram is a great group of artists we work very close with.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Having members of the band living in Jämtland, Stockholm (both in Sweden) and San Diego (California). A lot of DropBox files and shit being sent through the woods of Sweden, and over the Atlantic Wall.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Perseverance and constantly saying yes to ideas with an open mind. For example, “Should we add a Zither? Yes!”, “Should the intro be played backwards? Of course!” and on and on the Shit goes through the amps.

What was your biggest regret?
Once, Erik shared a cigarette with the singer of Red Fang outside The Casbah in San Diego, and he never mentioned Shit The Cow, or asked for his number, address or social security info. Will they ever meet again? Probably not. It’s sad, because there is so much love there.

What was the best concert so far and why?
Have to say Slomosa in Gothenburg just a few weeks ago. Totally knocked us out. Made us question why anyone else even bothers anymore.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Using AI? It’s like, why?

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Let’s split this up between our members;

Robin: No Means No and their album »Wrong« from 1989.

Danno: Again Slomosa with their album »Tundra Rock«, but also Alkoholisten & Avrådan. Absolutely brilliant.

Peter: Horndal. Death jazz about hardships in the Swedish rust belt, or something like that.

Erik: I listen a lot to a band from Gothenburg called Big Exit and their album…um »Big Exit«. Great band with a great sound.

Alex: Getting down with Johnossi, Amanda Bergman and Alice Boman.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Do not lean on this as a profession (even though some of us do – respect!), have fun, be kind, include everyone, make noise and respect the Cow.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Twisted Tea, PBR and a nice whiskey. Always around when we record.

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Jämtland?
The music scene in Jämtland is amazing though well guarded from the rest of the world. Check out Stenlunga or :heiva: for an audiophonic adventure.

Where can we see you live soon?
Right now, you can contact us and ask us to play, if the schedule and $$$ is right, and there are ice cold Twisted Tea and PBR, we will show up and play – wherever you are.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
We just released our first Christmas song, it’s called »Happy New Year«! We tried to collect as many of our friends as possible and it was just a very warm and nice feeling recording the song. We have jingle bells, we have people taking turns singing and it’s just a nice reflection on 2025 – or really, any year if you want. Timeless song. Check it out at Bandcamp: shitthecow.bandcamp.com.

How can people best support your band?
Keep listening and let us know what you think, The Cow is here for you.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Turn it way up, relax, enjoy, make sense of your version of the Shit, and make sure you are kind.
