🌘 Get under a heavy spell with new album »Accepting Omega« 🌘

»Accepting Omega« marks a significant shift for Holystone, pushing into darker and heavier territory with clear alt-metal influence drawn from formative inspirations such as Melvins, Bleach-era Nirvana and Tool. Exploring themes of anxiety, depression, existentialism, mortality and the collapse of the modern world, this new album trades much of the psychedelic warmth of their debut for something far more unnerving and existential, as shown in their latest videos for »The Prophecy (Jaws Of Victory)« and »Guided By Stones«.
»Accepting Omega« was recorded across two distinct environments: half in rainy Seattle with legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden), and half in the high desert of Joshua Tree at Rancho de la Luna with Dave Catching (Eagles Of Death Metal, QOTSA), further cementing the trio’s commitment to emotionally crushing heaviness and immersive sonic landscapes, topped by the compelling vocal duo of Madi Morris and Wolfe Peterson.
About the album’s overarching theme, the band says: “The record follows eight standalone characters experiencing the end of the world under the influence of Omega – a young apocalyptic figure who appears as both guide and catalyst. Through fragmented perspectives of surrender, resistance and revelation, her seductive presence offers both solace and destruction. At its core, »Accepting Omega« grapples with the meaning of modern existence and the question of whether humanity’s self-destruction is inevitable – and more unsettlingly, whether it might be justified. These themes are filtered through influences such as Alejandro Jodorowsky’s surreal cinematic visions and apocalyptic literature, including Stephen King’s »The Stand«, resulting in a record that is as philosophical as it is oppressive.”

Emerging from Brisbane, Australia, Holystone are a three-piece heavy band blending melodic doom, hypnotic psychedelia and apocalyptic world-building into a sound that feels both ritualistic and deeply unsettling. Featuring intertwining male and female vocals, towering riffs and repetitive desert-rock rhythms, the blindfolded trio perform clad in dark ceremonial attire, transforming their immersive live shows into something visceral and transportive. In the process, Holystone have quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s most distinctive rising heavy acts.
The band’s debut album »East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon« was released in March 2024 and received glowing reviews, expanding Holystone’s following around the world. An ambitious collection of vintage tones and hypnotically repetitive rhythms recorded live together as a whole in pursuit of ‘feel’, the album explored occult themes such as celestial worship, funerary practices and ancient Greek muses.
Although still a relatively young band, members Madison Morris (bass and vocals), Wolfe Peterson (guitar and vocals), and Jonny Pickvance (drums) have each built substantial musical histories before the formation of Holystone, having won awards and toured both domestically and internationally. The trio have quickly established themselves within Australia’s heavy underground, sharing stages with acts including Brant Bjork Trio, Yawning Man and Witchskull, while also appearing at events such as Nowhere Festival and Psychnight.
