Doomed Nation

Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Christian Bögelmann (Black Charger)

Black Charger stand for uncompromising stoner rock with clear roots in the 1990s – influenced by genre greats such as Kyuss, Fu Manchu and Brant Bjork.

The trio from Osnabrück, Germany – consisting of Christian (guitar, vocals), Stephan (bass) and Uli (drums) – combines powerful guitar riffs with distinctive grooves and a high dynamic. Their sound is immediate, earthy and energetic, driven by a deep understanding of the genre and a clear focus on authenticity.

Known for their intense live presence, the band plays up to 20 shows a year and has shared the stage with international acts such as 1000mods, Wucan and Motorowl.

Four digitally released singles mark the band’s catalog to date, which is now being consistently continued with their debut album, »Small Town«, scheduled for release on November 1st, 2025 via Clostridium Records.

Can you please say a few words about your band?
We started in 2018 as a simple jam project, but over time it grew into a full band, which we named Black Charger. All of us grew up in the small town of Bramsche. We left when we were adults, but eventually found our way back.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
For me, songwriting is the hardest part. With three people in the band, there are so many different tastes in music and so many opinions – it can be tough to bring it all together.

What can you be most proud of so far?
We’re proud that we get to live this whole amazing adventure. Touring, recording, and releasing music is such an awesome experience, and we’re really happy to be able to do it.

What was your biggest regret?
None that I can think of.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
For me, the best concert was near Stuttgart at a secret place called Stollen. The people there really connected with our music, and they also knew how to party after the show!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
That the band Slomosa managed to go on tour with Helmet. Slomosa are such a great band – I love their music and I think they’re capable of an even bigger breakthrough in the scene.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
I don’t listen to that much music myself, but I always try to check out what’s new around us. Right now, I’m listening to the latest releases from Red Mess and Rovar. Great guys, and great music.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Don’t focus too much on theory or technique – play with your feelings.

What are your guilty pleasures?
I also enjoy listening to electronic music and minimal techno.

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Osnabrück?
The scene is small but growing. We also organize our own shows in our hometown under the name Krachklub.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We’ll be playing in Hildesheim, Cottbus, Herford, Telgte, Lippstadt, Recklinghausen, Osnabrück, and Koblenz.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
To play as many shows as possible to promote our first full-length album.

How can people best support your band?
Follow us on social media – we’re almost everywhere, even on TikTok.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Be open to new things. Listening across borders can bring you a lot of joy.
