Doomed Confessionary: Guido, Andrea & Maurizio (Elepharmers)

Formed in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy in 2010, Elepharmers consists of Guido Solinas aka El Chino (guitar, vocals, bass), Andrea Cadeddu (lead guitar) and Maurizio Mura (drums). Always placed in the stoner genre, the three formed in the metal, thrash, grunge and hard rock of the 70s, 80s and 90s: the trio’s sound is driven by powerful downtuned guitar riffs and drum grooves, bluesy vocals and a free-sounding lead guitar.
Over the years the band has released three albums: »Weird Tales From The Third Planet« (Go Down Records, 2013), »Erebus« (Go Down Records, 2016) and the concept »Lords of Galaxia« (Electric Valley Records, 2019).
The Elepharmers have toured in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The spring 2020 European tour was postponed and then unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout 2020 and 2021 the Elepharmers suspended concert activity but continued to write new stuff, and in 2022 they resumed playing clubs and festivals in conjunction with the pre-production of a new album.
»Western Wilderness« is the band’s fourth album and will be released on October 24th, 2025 via Electric Valley Records. The Elepharmers will tour Europe again in November 2025.
Can you please say a few words about your band?
We are a bunch of long time friends who share a massive love for heavy music. We do our best to deliver hot riffs to our listeners!
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Of having survived the Covid years!
What can you be most proud of so far?
To be still around after 13 years!
What was your biggest regret?
Not having had many opportunities to play live in the last year.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
One of my favourites is the one we played in a small town in Sardinia, called Fordongianus.
Close to a river, nearby an old roman thermae. No stage, just us in front of a banging crowd!
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Slomosa.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Lowrider, All Them Witches, Rotor, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats.
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Over the years, there has been a lot of advice, and it is difficult for me to recall any one piece in particular. I can say that from a very young age and up until today, we have always considered it important to go and see bands play live, observe them, talk to the musicians and exchange ideas. Every evening, there is something to learn. And that is also our (unsolicited) advice.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Probably something related to food!
Can you say something more about the current music scene in Sardinia?
In the city of Cagliari and throughout the region of Sardinia, there have been various rock music scenes for decades. There is an underground scene that can be more or less lively at different times. There are some very interesting bands who, like us, are also trying to take their music beyond the borders of the region and around Europe. There are also some record labels that create a bridge between our island and the music scene.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We will present our new album 25th October in Cagliari, then we will tour from 6th till 16th November thru north Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France. Check our socials for details.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Promote as much as possible our new record and start soon working on new tracks.
How can people best support your band?
Coming to our shows, sharing our music and maybe buying some record and merch!!!
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Hope to see you on tour on November to share some beer and heavy loud music!
