Oakland, California based instrumental heavy fusion duo Sludgebucket is back with their new album, »Atavism«, which was just released on May 25th, 2026.

Sludgebucket is a heavy fusion instrumental duo, consisting of Kelly Waldrip on bass, and Marc Kaufman on drums. Formed in Oakland in 2004 by Kelly Waldrip with the idea of meshing multiple styles such as psychedelic, progressive, doom, and stoner metal.

Social & Psychological Atavism is a reversion to archaic patterns of behavior or thought. Describes a reversion to older, primitive, or uncivilized ways of thinking or acting. This album is a direct response to the current socio/economic/political climate.
