Solitone (Screamo/Post-Hardcore // France)
Solitone is a screamo/post-hardcore 4-piece based in Bordeaux, France. Active since 2015, Solitone have already released two EPs »Première Vague« (2016) and »Lame de Fond« (2018) both on vinyl via DIY labels. Their third EP »Le Champ des Possibles« is out June 19, 2026 and available for streaming everywhere (except on Spotify) at this location. Vinyl version will be available on September 4th, 2026 through Voice Of The Unheard, Dog Knights Productions and Persistent Vision Records.
Blending emo, hardcore-punk and post-rock, Solitone plays a raw, yet emotional and intimate sound, built on a simple setup (a single guitar, bass, vocals and drums). All the band members have been influenced by French screamo references such as Daïtro and Amanda Woodward, hence their use of French vocals.
Remaining active gigging through the years despite bass player changes (JP left after the second EP, Ju filled in for a few shows then Nico joined the band) they are about to release their first project in 8 years, the first with the current line up.
Says the band: “We started this band more than 10 years ago, and during all this time we saw the world evolve. Even if the first Solitone EPs were already relatively political, today we reached a point where we think that from our privileged positions, we can no longer afford to stay evasive at best, silent at worst.
»Le Champ des Possibles« (that could be translated to “The Scope Of Possibilities”) tackles issues like alienation at work, the absurd way humans treat animals, our political representatives slide toward fascism, the way men react towards feminism, and the disintegration of the concept of truth. The themes mean a lot to us as we deeply believe in antifascist and anticapitalist values.
We don’t pretend to be role models, we are full of contradictions ourselves (and as different individuals we all come from different trajectories of lives and have different topics that move us differently), but we believe that talking about these topics is a duty against the mainstream rhetoric nowadays.”
