Belgian black/doom metal band A Thousand Sufferings will release »Valley Of A Sun« on September 4th, 2026. Until then, check out their latest single »Halo Of Flies« HERE.

Rooted in Klein-Brabant, Belgium, A Thousand Sufferings have been active for years with a sound built around black metal, doom and deep melancholy. The band was shaped by the sudden passing of vocalist Tijl, after which the remaining members chose to continue, with PJ taking over vocals and Jurgen joining on guitar. Their debut album became a tribute to their late frontman, followed by »Bleakness« and later »Stilte«, released between 2019 and 2020.

Following recent line-up changes, with Wouter taking over on drums and Joan joining on bass, A Thousand Sufferings now return with »Valley Of A Sun«. The four-track EP takes songs by Zjef Vanuytsel, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy and Therapy? and strips them down to their core before rebuilding them in the band’s own sound.

A Thousand Sufferings has been delivering a tormented blend of black and doom metal for years, rooted in the clay soils of Klein-Brabant, Belgium. Formed by former members of acts like Verloren, Vex, and Xastur, the band was profoundly impacted by the sudden passing of vocalist Tijl. The remaining members chose to continue their musical journey with PJ taking over vocals and Jurgen (Xastur) stepping in on guitar, releasing their debut album as a heavy tribute to their late frontman.

After sharing the stage with renowned names such as Urfaust, Lugubrum, and Primordial, the band followed up with their second album, »Bleakness«. This musical evolution culminated between 2019 and 2020 with the release of »Stilte«: a monumental, melancholic lament that channels both intense suffering and a glimmer of hope.

Following recent lineup changes, with Wouter (Histoire Noire) taking over on drums from Timo, and Joan replacing bassist Nico, the band stands stronger than ever. A Thousand Sufferings is ready to unleash their dark, immersive sound upon the world once more.
