Dunerider is a one-man doom/stoner metal band from Paris, France. Created in 2020 by its only member, Fred Dupré.
Armed with a very heavy sound overloaded with fuzz, Dunerider self-produced and recorded three albums at DuneStudio Paris, including the latest »Long Trip«, out on June 12th, 2024.
Can you say a few words about your band?
Hi my name is Fred Dupré, Dunerider is a one man band created by myself a little over 3 years ago, a debut album »Ruins« was released in 2021, then a second »Ascend To The Void« in 2022. The latest album »Long Trip« was just released in June this year.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
The biggest challenge for Dunerider is to do everything myself, from composition to distribution including recording all the instruments, mixing, mastering…
What can you be most proud of so far?
I’m quite proud of the work accomplished so far, that’s a lot of time locked in my cave lol…
What was your biggest regret?
I regret not being able to go on stage and share my music live, but that’s how it is, it’s one of the disadvantages of a one man band!
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Having never given a concert with Dunerider, I could not answer the questions concerning stage experience, however, I was able to do a few concerts when I was younger! We did covers of Sepultura, Machine Head, Iron Maiden… and a few songs of our own! It was pretty cool!
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
The best advice I’ve ever been given as a musician is to never give up, and that’s certainly the best advice you could give to any musician! Never let it down!
What are your guilty pleasures?
A guilty pleasure? Hahaha I have so many! Let’s say… I enjoy listening to dubsep, like Skrillex lol…
Can you say something more about the music scene in Paris?
Paris is a pretty cool city for concerts (not for the rest…)
The French doom scene is pretty well represented I think, there are lots of awesome bands like Witchfinder or Cult Of Occult, these are bands that you absolutely have to go see live!
What are your plans for the future as a band?
I have a few plans for the future, a fourth album (at least!), a cover of King Crimson is in progress, a band I really admire…
