“Classic doom metal with a modern sound, Dog Head King from Graz, Austria are nailing it like Jesus.”
Karl “Charly” Steinpatz and Stefan “Der General” Pichler combine an ancient Croatian saga about the Dog Head King with doom gothic metal in the vein of Paradise Lost or Type O Negative. During the recording sessions, Dog Head King were supported by musicians such as bassist Sebastian Lackner (Black Yen, Ellende, Nekrodeus) and Philipp Nuster (Ego Omnia, The Goatjuring, Saturnists). Members of Guyođ will also be joining them live at the end of January 2026.
Stefan Pichler is known as the singer of the Weiz-based doom metal band Evocation. And mastermind Charly Steinpatz has not only co-produced or mixed many Grazil Records releases, he has also released his own baby called Noise Transmission on Grazil Records. The album »dis-con-nec-ted« is already four years old these days.

The EP is full of doom gothic anthems and is a must for fans of sophisticated metal. The vinyl and CD release will follow at the end of January, and on January 31, 2026, you can also see this band live at Wakuum in Graz – a must-see event!
