Doomed Confessionary: Andy, David & Jacob (Psythøn)

Psythøn is a three-piece doom metal band hailing from Chicago, Illinois.
Psythøn deliver a heavy blend of doom, sludge, and stoner metal rooted in Electric Wizard worship and psychedelic chaos. Known for their rebellious spirit, wild parties, and crushing volume, the trio stand apart in a scene often bound by formulas. Guitarist Andy Georgiev, bassist David Johnson, and drummer Jacob Sennese channel raw energy into unrelenting riffs, keeping the defiant essence of rock and roll alive with every performance.
The band has released their debut EP »Baptized In Bong Water« on August 8th, 2025. The release was recorded, mixed and mastered by Dan “The Wizard” Klein at Ironhand Audio in Chicago. »Baptized In Bong Water« EP is available now on all major streaming platforms!

What’s up yall we’re Psythøn from Chicago, Illinois we like big amps, big bikes, bong rips and we play DOOOOOM.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Life, mania. But weed helps.
What can you be most proud of so far?
We are most proud of our record »Baptized In Bong Water«, the performances, the amazing production and the opportunity’s that have revealed themselves.
What was your biggest regret?
David: Buying that Damn truck.
Andy: letting opportunities passin me by.
Jacob: Picking Andy up from jail two days ago.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
David: My favorite jam definitely has to be when we went down to the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky and played for the ancient spirits.
Andy: Hell O’ Weed MMXXV and Reggie’s music joint.
Jacob: To be honest I can’t pick a favorite cuz I have a blast every time.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
How small and tight knit the scene is.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Andy: Electric FUCKING Wizard and the sound of my Honda GL1100 exhaust.
Jacob: Sheavy, Acid Bath and Blue Öyster Cult.
David: I get high and listen to unnecessarily long stoner comp albums.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Let it breathe.
What are your guilty pleasures?
WEEEED, 56 special botanicals, junk, fuck, blowing my brains out.
Can you say something more about the current music scene in Chicago?
Chicago has a thriving doom scene, from the mentors we have in our lives to the bands we share the stage with. Plenty of awesome venues with professionalism and opportunity’s. Lastly, our practice spot The Rock Spot and all the amazing music that has come from here.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
To be the LOUDEST band in the entire world.
