Dead Man’s Dirt is a five-piece band from Gothenburg, Sweden. Their music is influenced by the heavy blues rock of the 70s, stoner, doom and lots of other stuff.
After a several singles, Dead Man’s Dirt released their self-titled debut album in October 2022 via Ozium Records.
In the 90s guitarist Anders Harning played with Bozeman’s Simplex, and after he moved to Gothenbourg he started Resande Man with bass player Thomas Franzén, singer Fredrik Haglund and Tommy Stegemann on guitar. Fredrik went on to Earth Messiah and Tommy joined Dun Ringill.
Dead Man’s Dirt are Thomas Mann (vocals), Anders Harning (guitar), Thomas Franzén (bass), Magnus Könberg (drums) and Hampus Enroth (keyboards).
Can you say a few words about your band?
We are five geezers playing together for fun, and for the joy of creating.
What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
Last year was a good year, with the addition of our keyboard player Hampus. We also had some gigs that turned out well. So no actual challenge, so to speak.
What can you be most proud of so far?
We have some songs that we are really pleased with. But the best is yet to come.
What was your biggest regret?
Nothing comes to mind.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Just before Christmas, we had a gig at The Abyss in Gothenburg. It felt like we reached a new audience there.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
We are too old to be surprised!
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
We are listening to a lot of different music, all together. What inspire us for our own music is maybe Clutch, Abramis Brama, etc., and 70’s stuff by Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Mountain and so on. Good music never goes out of style.
Can you say something more about the music scene in Gothenburg?
Unfortunately, there are not so many places for live music of our kind, in and around Gothenburg. There’s a struggle to survive, for small clubs and rock bars.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We are booked for The Kristiflax Festival on the island of Tjörn the 11th of May. After that, we are open for suggestions. Hopefully, we will find some more gigs to play during the year.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Right now, we are working on new songs. We are planning to release a theme album about giants further on. We are also re-recording some old songs in our new five piece setting. These will be released digitally. Then we are always searching for places to play around our neighbourhood and out in the country.
On the 19th of April »Lost At Sea« will be out on all digital platforms, it’s the second one of the re-recordings.
How can people best support your band?
Come to our gigs, buy our t-shirts and spread the word!
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Not actually, but the lyrics often tells a story.
