The Broken Heroes is a psychedelic stoner/doom/heavy rock band from East Java, Indonesia.
About the band: “The Broken Heroes formed in September 2021 during covid pandemic in small city in Indonesia called Jombang. We are actually not intentionally formed this band, just having fun and jamming around in small gig held in our local coffee shop as part of thrift exhibition event, that is the first gig we’ve played with current band members (@_ahmadist on guitar and vocals, @kickdandy on drums, @shina_seg on bass, @ellepantboy on 2nd guitar). On the early gigs we’ve played many kinds of rock music such as grunge, punk rock, classic rock, etc. We just had fun and played everything we like, before we finally decided to have more fun by writing our own material seriously. We are quite well known in our local city music scene so we wanted people to sing along to our own songs. Heavy rock is maybe the best word to describe our kind of music.”
About the album: “»Whoreshiper« is our debut album, the title is slang from the word “worshiper”. We use this term for the people who take benefit by using religion and believe system to drive people’s mind, not all the songs in the album related to this theme but at least 3 or 4. »Whoreshiper« contains 7 songs with groovy heavy riffs (you can maybe use them as alternative option when you play guitar in guitar center), this album is kinda mix of heavy, psychedelic, doom, eastern and blues. We began to work on the record in January 2023 and finished all including mix and master in November 2023. It was released on December 15, 2023 on Bandcamp and followed by all DSP on December 24, 2023.”
