London-based noise experimentalists Troy The Band return with their new single »The Moment«, the third track lifted from their anticipated sophomore album »(des)«, due for release this summer.

“This was the first track we did as part of our collaborative album,” explains bassist Sean Durbin. “We are massive fans of Caine’s band Believe In Nothing and what always stands out is how he conjures a sheer sense of dread in his vocal delivery. Instrumentally this is a heavy and unsettling track, and we knew immediately that It was a perfect fit for Caine. We sent it to him with no notes or direction and just told him to do his thing. He sent it back and it was perfect, so we’re excited to finally have this one out in the world.”

A tortuous display of paranoia incarnate, »The Moment« is a devastating track from Troy the Band’s latest batch of collaborative compositions. From the opening sunken bass whisper to its intense and unsettling groove, it’s just one of many standouts tracks across »(des)« that showcases the band’s thirst for sonic destruction. Topped off by Hemmingway’s guttural snarls, cries and commanding proclamations.

Following on from previous singles »Porous« and »Nothing«, it’s another bold creative shift. After parting ways with their original vocalist shortly after entering the studio, the band re-imagined »(des)« as a collaborative project celebrating London’s vibrant underground heavy-music community. The album features contributions from members of Elephant Tree, Believe In Nothing, Black Groove, Codex Serafini, Black Orchids, and others.

Recorded at Bear Bites Horse Studio in Haggerston with producer Wayne Adams (Gum Takes Tooth, Petbrick, Terminal Cheesecake), the new material showcases the band’s ever-expanding sonic palette. The sessions also cemented long-time live drummer Jack Revans as a permanent member, reinforcing the band’s evolution while maintaining the distinct identity forged on »Cataclysm«.

With plans to release one track per month leading up to a full physical edition this summer, Troy The Band are gearing up for their most ambitious year yet. For now, listeners can stream and share »The Moment« (featuring Caine Hemmingway) HERE with more news on »(des)« to follow next month.

“Ominous. That’s how »The Moment« grabs you right from the get-go, with that stunningly resonant bass riff. This is doom through-and-through. The atmosphere is filled with awesome dread.” — Doomed & Stoned
