Kröwnn released »Santa Somnia«, their fourth studio album, on February 13th, 2026 via Subsound Records.
»Santa Somnia« is an imaginary saint, shaped like a medieval folktale figure, who steals the sleep and childhood creativity of his victims to feed a kingdom of oblivion and torment.
The album’s lyrics follow the journey of a protagonist stripped of rest and innocence, wandering through a decaying dreamworld reminiscent of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.
»Santa Somnia« becomes an allegory of lost hope and the crushing weight of adulthood, drawing further thematic influence from the bleak darkness of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk.
»Santa Somnia« is a sonic trip through a crumbling psyche – drenched in despair and shadows – ruled by the struggle against madness brought on by sleeplessness, the inner torment of depression, and the inevitable, sometimes merciful, pull of death.

The influence of FromSoftware and Berserk emerges through the album’s cryptic, oppressive storytelling, where the line between nightmare and reality barely exists.
While rooted in the band’s earlier works, the sound of »Santa Somnia« blends the crushing weight of doom metal with classic and thrash metal elements and injections of punk-rock melody, mirroring the emotional instability and mental agony woven throughout the lyrics.

Kröwnn were formed in Venice in 2012 by Michele Carnielli (vocals, guitar) and Silvia Rossato (bass), inspired by a Pentagram concert. With Elena Fiorenzano on drums, they released their debut »Hyborian Age« (PRC Music, 2013), a concept album dedicated to the »Conan The Barbarian« saga, followed by »Magmafrost« (Taxi Driver Records, 2015), featuring a darker sound inspired by the fantasy tales of Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, and George R. R. Martin.
Numerous shows across Italy and tours in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany followed, sharing the stage with Yob, Pallbearer, Zodiac, and Red Fang, and performing at several European festivals. In 2017, the lineup expanded with Nicola Bordignon (guitar), with whom the band recorded »Bluedeep« (Jetglow Records, 2019), a concept album connected to the abyss and Venetian imagery. In 2022, Mimmo Bennici replaced Elena Fiorenzano on drums, contributing to the evolution of the sound that culminates in »Santa Somnia« (Subsound Records, 2026), where thrash and classic metal influences intertwine with dark and dreamlike lyrics.
Recorded at LR Studio Venezia & Maldetesta Recording Studio.
