Norwegian funeral doom metal veterans Funeral premiere new lyric video for »Three Dead Men« featuring Espen Ingierd (ex-Beyond Dawn) on guest vocals.

»Three Dead Men« is the final track taken from Funeral’s latest full-length album, »Gospel Of Bones«, out on October 18th, 2024 via Season Of Mist.

As »Gospel Of Bones« continues to resonate, Funeral share a lyric video for »Three Dead Men«, one of the record’s most personal compositions.

»Three Dead Men« is an autobiographical reflection by drummer and composer Anders Eek on the loss of three close friends within a seven year period, including former Funeral members Einar Fredriksen and Christian Loos. The song addresses grief as a lasting condition rather than a closed chapter, aligning closely with the album’s broader focus on lived experience, endurance, and emotional aftermath.

Vocals on the track are performed by guest vocalist Espen Ingierd of Beyond Dawn, whose restrained and human delivery contrasts with the operatic approach heard elsewhere on »Gospel Of Bones«. Musically, the track adheres to the album’s slow tempos and dense arrangements, favoring atmosphere and emotional gravity over excess. Recorded at Toproom Studio and Studio 42, the song was produced and mixed by Børge Finstad in collaboration with Anders Langberg.

This new video uses symbolic imagery centered on movement, stillness, and isolated physical gestures to convey memory, absence, and vulnerability. Rather than offering narrative resolution, its closing moments suggest continuation, with emotional weight remaining present as life moves forward.
