The Spanish band Medicina presents »Muerte con dignidad«, the second single of their new album »Las formas de ondas«. Following the technological dystopia of »Robots«, the trio delivers a raw and confrontational song that addresses euthanasia and the right to decide over one’s own death, from the perspective of the suffering endured by people facing severe and irreversible illness.

“It’s a somewhat raw portrayal of the choice of euthanasia and the right to it, told through the suffering of people in a situation of severe, irreversible illness.” – Alberto R. González (Medicina)

Musically, the track is gritty, tense rock with jagged noise edges and a post-punk drive, aimed at fans of Wipers, Gang Of Four, Voivod, or Nirvana. An uncompromising blast that reaffirms the band’s expansive and forceful character.

The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Antonio Crespo, built from archival footage that reinforces the song’s human and social dimension.

The album: »Las formas de ondas«

The album was recorded and mixed by José Ortega at Ciegos de Sonido Studio and mastered by the legendary Jack Endino, a key figure in the history of alternative rock and the architect of the sound of bands such as Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, L7, and Nirvana. His involvement brings the album a sonic solidity and depth that connects it to the most honest and visceral tradition of independent rock.

»Las formas de ondas« will include, in addition to the new tracks, a reworking of »Vilo«, originally released in the compilation box set »Grados. Minutos. Segundos.« (Spinda Records, 2021), as well as a Spanish-language cover of »Especially Me« by Low as a tribute to Mimi Parker. The album will be released on March 18, 2026 via Spinda Records, in limited editions of 300 copies on black vinyl and 100 copies on compact disc. Pre-orders for the physical formats are now available at spindarecords.com.

More about Medicina

Medicina was formed in 2012 in Algeciras by seasoned musicians from the local scene. Their sound – self-described as expansive rock – blends shoegaze, grunge, post-punk, and space rock.

After several self-released EPs, they put out their debut album »Turboácido« (2019), which received strong critical acclaim and led to concerts in Spain and Austria. In 2021, they contributed »Vilo« to the box set »Grados. Minutos. Segundos.« by Spinda Records.

With the addition of Simon Vandamme on drums, the band consolidated its current lineup and, in 2026, culminates this phase with »Las formas de ondas«, a work that reaffirms their sonic identity and their standing within Spain’s underground scene.
