The Finnish occult rock torchbearer Krypta returns with a new album »Unen oma«, out on April 10th, 2026 via Svart Records. Combining catchy hooks and melodic distorted guitars, Krypta’s poetic and melancholic lyrics stem from the mysticism, horror, and romance of the mind. In Krypta’s songs, the human mind is like a valley where nothing is what it seems – one’s own deluded thoughts lead to paths that one never knew they would end up walking. In Krypta’s world, the dimensions of time and space are one, and this is reflected in the lyrics’ contemplative nature. Despite their melancholy, however, the lyrics always contain a glimmer of hope.
Thematically, the lyrics on the upcoming album »Unen oma« explore the interface between lies and truth, the many dimensions of dreams, and the end of the world, without forgetting comfort and mercy.

“Our stupidest and therefore perhaps the best chorus” – Krypta invites you to dance with their new single »Viikate«!
»Viikate« is Krypta’s invitation to the eternal dance of death and life. The song is the second single from the Unen oma album, which will be released in April, and the song represents the more mid-tempo side of the upcoming album. While the previous single »Muuttuva labyrintti« was a fast-paced and boldly harpsichord-free punk rock, »Viikate« is a solid, thumping and melodic rock, where the harpsichord has been replaced by an electric organ and a Mellotron synthesizer. The band promises that the rhythm of the song will go under the feet of every listener.
“This song contains our stupidest and therefore perhaps the best chorus. The children’s song-like nature of the verse and the rhythm oozing with stadium rock aesthetics, as well as the strong contrast they create, make this song unique,” says the band’s primus motor and guitarist-vocalist Henri Seger.
Svart Records will release Krypta’s new album »Unen oma« on April 10, 2026 and it is available for pre-order from the label’s online store and a limited edition of 100 blue and yellow marbled vinyl is also available. The album release will be followed by an extensive Finnish tour, tickets for which are on sale now!
