German doom metal band Steamgenerator reissued their debut album »Hopeless Romantic« + »Black As Coal« EP via metalloscope-music!

Wolfsburg, Germany based doom metal band Steamgenerator has reissued their debut album »Hopeless Romantic« on March 25th, 2026 via metalloscope-music.

The new edition features remastered songs from Steamgenerator’s both releases, »Hopeless Romantic« (2023) and »Black As Coal« EP (2019).

Steamgenerator, hailing from the cold steel forge of Wolfsburg, feel musically at home in the vast doom universe, with the musicians feeling most comfortable in the company of genre greats such as Trouble, Black Sabbath, and Cathedral. Five men, worn down by hard work, have set out to generate electrifying energy. Marcus Milbrandt (guitar) and Christian Steffenhagen (drums) first appeared together in various regional bands in the early 1990s, most consistently with the doom metal band Grief Of God.

Steamgenerator say about the background: “It’s not the age of perfection, but the age of transmission! The song from the album »Hopeless Romantic« that comes closest to classic doom. All of the band’s musical influences come together here. Here they reveal their roots and the reasons why Steamgenerator was originally formed. Trouble, Cathedral, and Black Sabbath are the godfathers. The song is an apocalyptic view of a technocratic, profit-oriented society with no regard for the individual.
