Glacier // »More Distant/More Violent« // Out July 11, 2025

A five-piece post-metal band from Boston, MA, Glacier is a band whose music fully embodies their name: a crushingly loud and unrelenting force.

Summer 2025 will see the release of »More Distant/More Violent«, which serves as a companion piece to 2024’s »A Distant, Violent Shudder«. Clocking in at just under 46 minutes, the 5-song album opens with »The Barren Soil«, a B-side originally written and recorded during the sessions for »A Distant, Violent Shudder«, that is a continuation of the haunting and aggressive soundscapes embodied on that record. It evokes the devastation of an apocalyptic event through distortion-saturated guitars, pummeling rhythms, and dynamics that take the listener on a journey. The remaining 4 tracks are newly imagined compositions based off the music from A Distant Violent Shudder, prepared by friends and peers in We Lost The Sea, thisquietarmy, ameokama, and Eeli Helin (Fawn Limbs, Resonant House, Antler Disko). The new compositions highlight each individual’s artistry, and expand upon motifs heard on »A Distant, Violent Shudder« with layers of added instrumentation to push the boundaries of the band’s repertoire into an even more devastating, industrial sound.
