Doomed Confessionary: Amy Prada (Red Cloud)

Red Cloud is a five-piece heavy rock band from Paris, France.

Illegitimate offspring of the classic rock of the 1970s (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or AC/DC) and influenced by some of the leading bands of the current heavy rock scene (DeWolff, Monster Truck or Rival Sons), Red Cloud offers an “old-fashioned” rock based on incisive riffs tinged with blues and songs cut for the stage, while the powerful voice of Roxane Sigre evokes the prime of Janis Joplin or Grace Slick.

Although their vintage inspirations are fully assumed, the quintet keeps its feet firmly anchored in the present, refusing to fall into the past and making sure to keep a modern look in the sounds and themes addressed in their songs.

Red Cloud are Roxane Sigre (vocals), Amy Prada (guitar), Rémi Bottriaux (guitar), Maxime Mestres (bass) and Mano Cornet-Maltet (drums).

Can you say a few words about your band?
We are a French heavy rock n’ roll band from Paris formed in 2020, led by a strong female voice and accompanied by 2 guitars. Our first self-titled album came out in 2023 and the next one should be released in 2025. The past year we decided to take on a crazy challenge: release one song and one music video per month, for 8 months! These 8 singles and videos are available on our socials.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Like I said, releasing one song and video per month was our biggest challenge so far! We did everything ourselves, from the studio process (recording, mixing, mastering…) to shooting and editing the music videos ourselves. It was a lot of hard work that took ‘blood sweat & tears’ (sometimes almost litterally!!) but we are extreemly proud of our content.

What can you be most proud of so far?
I think we are proud of everything we released so far. We are proud of our album and the singles that have been released. But most of all, we are proud to have offered 8 different music videos to our fans with our crazy project. We also got to perform one of our song live on French TV, it was un unforgetable experience!

What was your biggest regret?
I don’t think we have any regrets as a band. We have tried our best and did everything we could, we made an album, people get to listen to our music all over the world, and they come see us play, which is amazing. In the band we do everything ourselves, so we do like what we like without any regrets or limits.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
All the concerts we did in Paris were unbelievable. Our last gig was in December, it was a sold-out show on a boat and it was pretty amazing!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Everything is a surprise int the sense that you are never really prepared for what’s coming haha! Being in a band, touring, playing shows, each venues and each day is a new surprise for you and your bandmates. There is only one rule, nothing goes according to the plan!

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
I recently discovered a new band called The Standstills that I really like. Also, I’m into The Temperance Movement and The Lazys right now, an australian hard rock band that absolutely kicks asses.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Question everything. And see the bigger picture. Especially when it comes to writing songs. Don’t do things the easy way, and always try to propose something new. Also, reguarding your gear, always have everything in spare!!

What are your guilty pleasures?
Haribo candies & crisps, that’s our touring died.

Can you say something more about current music scene in Paris?
Paris has a very importance undergound rock scene, which is really cool for us. Though it might be more about stoner rock, psych rock and alternative rock. But you can always find your place in this, everytime we played in paris the audience was really receptive even though they didn’t know us.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We will be mostly touring in France, we play Reims and Bordeaux soon, we’ll play again in Paris in May, and we will play various festivals this summer. Hopefully we’ll play more in Europe in the future!

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Releasing our second album and touring as much as we can. Music makes sense when we play it for the people, we love to see this connection with the audience, we are a live band above all.

How can people best support your band?
Share our music and videos if you like! With your friends or on your socials, we really appreciate it, any share is something for us. Of course, if you want to suport us more, we have a website where you can buy our music and other merchandising.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thank you! Thank you to everything to listen to our music, we hope to be able to play for you in the future!
