Melbourne, Australia based death/doom/sludge metal trio Bog Mönster just released their debut album »Servants Of The Necrosect« on June 14th, 2024. Also available as limited edition cassette tape through Frozen Screams Imprint.
Three fools cross the threshold of man into the realm of death and doom. Driven by dreams of fortune and glory, they venture paths traveled not by lawful mortals, but demons and beasts. Their demise certain, pray not for homecoming tales of victory, for none will be left to tell the horrors of the Bog Mönster…
Bog Mönster are Jack (vocals, bass), Casey (guitar) and Rory (drums).
Can you say a few words about your band?
We’re Bog Mönster. We played a lot of riffs, write songs about vengeful wizards, play distortion and fuzz pedals at the same time and we’re all going bald.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Right now the biggest challenge is fitting in music with the rest of our lives. Getting older and getting busy with being a fucking grown up; it’s a lot.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Our new album »Servants Of The Necrosect« is a huge achievement. It just came out, we’re really proud of it.
What was your biggest regret?
Compromising with people we don’t respect. Life’s too short, if the vibe is wrong, walk away.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Shows at Trash Cult Records are the best shows on Earth.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The heavier the music, the nicer the people.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Krater, Horrendous, High On Fire, Conan, Tzompantli, Gravepeeler.
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Make music for you. Don’t give a single thought to the audience.

What are your guilty pleasures?
We don’t believe in guilty pleasures. Guilt is for Catholics. You wanna know what we like that people think is lame? Sade, jazz, cardiovascular fitness, trying to be kind and patient to everyone you meet, every day.
Can you say something more about the music scene in Melbourne / Australia?
We spend very little time in our scene. We find scenes are all too often filled with people who do not want connect sincerely. They’re scared of who they might see in the reflection of themselves.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Wadawarrung, Wurrundjuri and Dja Dja Wurrung Country.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Play some shows, write some new shit, make some new merch… But most of all have some fun. Making an album was hard work, we just wanna have a good time now.
How can people best support your band?
Come to shows, buy stuff, and come hangout and be lovely.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thank you so much. To make music we love, and to have others love it to so special. Thank you.
