Miami, Florida based alternative rock/shoegaze/punk outfit Las Nubes has signed with Spinda Records to release their second album »Tormentas Malsanas« on June 14th, 2024.

Watch a music video for the first single »Would Be«, also available on Spotify and all major streaming platforms!

“There was a rumor going around about a live-action Power Puff Girls series being made by Diablo Cody. It was going to be set in the future and have them portrayed as adults looking back on their lives as crime-fighting little girls who missed out on being kids. I grew up in the ‘90s and PPG was one of my favorite cartoons, so I was really excited about this. One day Emile [Milgrim] and I were talking about how cool it would be to write the theme song for the show, so »Would Be« was the result of that.

It took about 20 minutes to write. At the time I felt like my best years were flying away before my eyes and I used that as inspiration for what it might feel like to be an aging ex-superhero.” – Ale Campos

The Miami-based band teams up with the Spanish label for the release of their second studio album, »Tormentas Malsanas«, on June 14th.

A new bridge is built between Miami and La Línea (Spain) as Las Nubes join the indie label Spinda Records, alongside bands like Fin del Mundo, Moura, Viaje A 800, Maragda, Travo, Moundrag, Saturna, and Empty Full Space.

Thus, Spinda Records, together with Sweat Records Records (who already put out their debut album, »SMVT«) and Godless America will be responsible for releasing the band’s second album, »Tormentas Malsanas«, on June 14th. The band was formed in 2017 by Ale Campos (guitars, vocals) and Emile Milgrim (drums, percussion).

Championed by none other than Iggy Pop (with whom they performed live as the first all-female lineup of The Stooges) and after releasing a seven-inch with early versions of »Enredados« and »Drop-In« (two tracks from their new album) through Thurston Moore’s (Sonic Youth) Ecstatic Peace / Daydream Library label, Las Nubes have a new album ready. It has been produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jonathan Nuñez of the band Torche; and in it, they continue to develop alternative rock filled with fuzz, pop melodies, garage-punk attitude, and structures that bring them closer to genres like dream pop and shoegaze; all this with lyrics in up to three languages.

The single »Would Be« is already available on major streaming platforms, has an official music video, and carries a very ’90s vibe reminiscent of bands like Pixies, Hole, or Lush.

“Las Nubes are far and away the hottest band in Miami, and the most socially relevant. Like the children and the young at heart across North and South America, they rock from the soul, covered in tattoos and attitude. They represent an uncompromising lifestyle trend that is the future. They’re fucking loud, too!” – Iggy Pop

“The perfect soundtrack for a long afternoon in your bedroom, waiting for something larger than us to heal.” – NPR

“A refreshing look back to 90s grunge.” – Ruta 66

“A never-ending energy based in their DIY collective roots.” – Mondo Sonoro
