It’s not often that a new band come out of the gate with a standout debut single that could easily top the rock charts – but Wild Oceans have done just that with their debut single »Bloodbath«.

Recorded by legendary producer John Cornfield (Oasis/Muse/Supergrass/Stone Roses) at the iconic Sawmills Studio, »Bloodbath« is a driving, emotive alt-rock banger which leaps out of the speakers and grabs the listener by the scruff of the neck. Lyrically, it’s a tale a lot of us can identify with – the story of a deceitful lover you keep giving a second chance even though deep down you know they’ll never change – the lyrics and the vocal performance combine perfectly, harnessing the emotion and tension of the song.

Although they are a new act, Wild Oceans are far from debutants. This South-West alt-rock quartet have earned their stripes with decades of combined experience touring the UK, Europe and the USA supporting artists including 3 Doors Down, The Rifles, Infadels and Pop Evil. Later in the year, the band are heading out on the road, bringing the noise to venues across the UK and following up this debut record with more singles and their debut album. »Bloodbath« is out on all platforms on the 19th September.

Biography:

Inspired by the great guitar bands of the last 20 years, Wild Oceans are an alt rock band comprised of some of the strongest musical talent in the South West – Jon Burnell (vocals and guitar), Mark Lee (bass and keys), Phil Thomas (lead guitar) and Connor Tregido (drums). They pride themselves on making music the way it should be made – Live and Loud.

This is a group of seriously talented musicians with impressive pedigree, having earned their stripes across the UK, US and Europe supporting artists such as 3 Doors Down, The Rifles, Infadels and Pop Evil. This isn’t a comeback, it’s a reinvention.

Their story started in a cramped rehearsal room with the amps cranked to max, energy seeping from each member and the atmosphere charged with creativity. It wasn’t long before their collection of demos grew into something undeniably special and Wild Oceans was formed.

The band caught the eye of legendary producer John Cornfield (Oasis/Muse/Supergrass/Stone Roses) who produced their forthcoming debut album at the iconic Sawmills Studios in early 2025.

With elements of Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves and Queens Of The Stone Age all present, Wild Oceans’ sound is familiar but unapologetically unique – it’s gritty, heavy and melodic with lyrics weaving a tapestry of life, loss, love and addition through big riffs and memorable choruses.

Wild Oceans’ debut single »Bloodbath« is out 19th September and the band will be heading out on the road for live dates this year.
