Initiated in 2013 in Paris, Bank Myna is the architect of a unique universe where dark post-rock, drone, sound experiments and doom-like incursions mingle. Among a mystical voice and dronian soundscapes, Bank Myna’s music offers free structures within which the sounds are ample, deep and the play on textures permanent. Ecstatic vocals lead the way to slow movements before letting the sound space tear up under bass and guitar feedbacks. Progressive, intense, torn between shadow and light, the Parisian quartet likes to give breadth and power to its compositions in an abrasive and instinctive live act, oscillating from flutterings imposed by drone sounds to dazzling noise and heavy rock explosions.

Bank Myna’s second full-length album »Eimuria« was just released on April 25th, 2025 via Medication Times Records / Araki Records / Stellar Frequencies / Modulor. Recorded in a live setting, their new album »Eimuria« captures the palpable osmosis between the musicians with sensitivity and spontaneity, thanks to ample, warm sounds. Especially inspired by the tumultuous lives and artistic productions of poetess Alejandra Pizarnik and sculptor Camille Claudel, and deeply intimate, it narrates a process of personal transformation interspersed with brutal ruptures.

Bank Myna consists of Maud Harribey (vocals, violin, keyboards), Fabien Delmas (guitar), Daniel Machón (bass) and Constantin du Closel (drums, percussions).

Can you please say a few words about your band?
Maud: We are a dark post-rock, slowcore, drone, doom band from Paris, France.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Maud: the line-up changed between our previous record »Volaverunt« and »Eimuria«, since Constantin joined us on drums. The lineup had been the same for so many years that we didn’t know what to expect from him whether it be in music or emotional terms but he fitted in perfectly. We’re so glad he’s brought his energy to the band!

Dani: I think that more challenging than the incorporation of Constantin between »Volaverunt« and »Eimuria« was actually finding him. When our previous drummer left, we had to adapt to a trio formation without drums and that was really difficult. This constraint led us to »Volaverunt«, our previous record. I believe this changes a lot in how and what we do. Finding the right person for drums took a while and hopefully Constantin joined. He’s so great drummer so in my opinion his integration to the band was really smooth.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Maud: Probably our last recording session. It was intense, completely mad but I wouldn’t have had it otherwise. I’ve loved every second of it and I feel that we’ve really pushed our limits as far as we could. It felt rewarding and I hope that listeners will be the intensity and osmosis we poured into it!

What was your biggest regret?
Maud: Regrets are not part of my philosophy. Everything happens for a reason, good or bad so no regrets!

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Maud: Culthe Fest 2022 was one of my best memories on stage. It was the first time we played in Germany and the audience was absolutely amazing. Very attentive, very benevolent. After the show, there was a small crowd (yes!!) following us to our merch table. It was incredibly for such a small band like us! We are so much looking forward to return on April 28!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Maud: It’s pretty hard to tell. It depends on the music scene. As for the Parisian one, I’ve really loved how a light has finally been shed on women! Initiatives like “Salut les zikettes” are really cool and essential to the scene, in my opinion.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Maud: It is maybe going to sound pretentious but I can’t stop listening to Wagner ever since Constantin introduced me to him. My favorite opera right now is Parsifal. So many great themes in it! Other than that, I have recently seen Anna von Hausswolff in Nantes so I’ve kind of been binging (if that can be used for music?) her albums again. She’s such a modern genius. Looking forward to her new album!

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Maud: Not necessarily from a musician but it resonated a lot: “Better done than perfect.” I love how it pushes you to get out there, release your music even if it’s not the best. I will make you grow as a musician!

What are your guilty pleasures?
Maud: One small dark chocolate bite after every meal. Can’t live without it!!

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Paris?
Maud: The Parisian scene is as lively as ever with lots of qualitative and exciting bands.. but, and this is not gonna sound great, it’s getting harder and harder to play. A lot of venues are closing due to financial issues mainly. Alternative culture is less and less supported by the public authorities. A lot of the current venues are shifting to a kind of “capitalist” model where the risk is now supported by the artists and not by the venue itself. It’s very damaging. I really hope for a better future!

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Maud: We have a bunch of shows in Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland. We’re really glad to be able to explore new countries. Hoping for even more shows in the future!

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Constantin: Touring to support our last album is our first goal.

Maud: Indeed! We’re really eager to see how the audience is gonna respond to »Eimuria«’s live version!

How can people best support your band?
Constantin: Listening to our music, attending our shows, buying some merch and spreading the word about us. We really enjoy comments from listeners, about how our music affects them.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Maud: Just thank you for being here. You’re the fuel that makes us grow!
