Jovian Queen is a four-piece heavy rock band hailing from San Luis Obispo, California. Formed on the Central Coast, the quartet has established a steady presence within the heavy underground scene by blending 70s classic rock, stoner rock, and vintage doom metal.

The band is highly regarded for keeping the flame of old-school proto-doom and classic heavy rock alive. Rather than relying strictly on modern 90s-style stoner rock riffs, Jovian Queen focuses heavily on dynamic songwriting, catchy melodies, and a vintage twin-guitar attack. Their production features a gritty, analog, and slightly lo-fi aesthetic that mimics a smoke-filled jam room packed with vintage equipment. Music critics frequently compare their sound to classic bands like Black Sabbath and Witchfinder General, as well as modern retro-fuzz acts like The Heavy Eyes.

Recorded at SLO-Fi Recording Studio in San Luis Obispo, their sophomore effort »Magnum Dopus« features seven tracks wrapped in a weathered, authentic 1980s metal armor. The album art was designed by the prominent heavy music illustrator Montdoom. Following its release, the album earned critical acclaim from underground music blogs like Stoner HiVe and debuted at #26 on the global Doom Charts.
