Doomed Nation

Sounds For The Lost Generation

Doomed Confessionary: Samu, Lavo, Maloa, Ema & Dugo (Throne)

Throne is a five-piece blackened sludge/doom metal band from Parma, Italy. Founded in 2012, the band consists of Samu (vocals), Lavo (guitars), Maloa (guitars), Ema (bass) and Dugo (drums).

Throne are back with their heaviest, strongest and most desperate effort so far and their solid sludge metal morphed into something more sulphureous, more malignant and definitely more feral. Their third full-length album »Ossarium« will be released on February 14th, 2025 via Dusktone Records.

»Ossarium« is a long, painful trip into the territories laden out by EyeHateGod, Buzzov•en and Acid Bath but with an evolved take bordering on black metal sound, as the first single »Aten« clearly demonstrates. In other episodes like »Morrigan«, for which a videoclip will premiere out during the month of January, the band goes back delivering mid-tempo funeral marches for the expected sludge-experience.

Empowered by an astonishing sound quality, perfect for a nightmarish musical experience, »Ossarium« will surely make an impact in early 2025!

Can you say a few words about your band?
Throne is a blackened sludge/doom band formed in 2012 in the swampiest and most remote areas of Italy. We combine crushing riffs with a dark and oppressive atmosphere.
In the same year, we released our debut full-length album »Avoid The Light«, produced by Moonlight Records. After five years of live shows across Europe, in 2017, we released our second full-length album »Consecrates«, produced by Black Bow Records and Endless Winter. This album is more mature, darker, and anti-religious.
In the following years, we played numerous live shows across Italy and Europe with bands such as Conan, Belzebong, Ufomammut, Weedeater, Messa, and Hexis, gaining extensive experience and delivering brutal and devastating performances.
In February 2025, our new album »Ossarium« will be released by Dusktone Records, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
The biggest challenge for us has been to still be here after 13 years, more energized than ever, with an incredible album ready for February!

What can you be most proud of so far?
What we are most proud of is our new album, »Ossarium«, set to be released in February 2025 through Dusktone Records.

What was your biggest regret?
What we consider our greatest regret is a canceled show, not due to us, where we were supposed to open for Phil Anselmo & The Illegals. He has always been a role model and a great source of inspiration for us, and unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to meet him. However, we’re confident that we’ll cross paths sooner or later.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We’ve done many shows, and all of them were devastating. The last one, where we played in Poland and Germany, we met Moonstone, an incredible band and amazing people. They’ve become like brothers to us, and we’re really happy about it. We’re sure we’ll play together again in the future.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
If you mean what was the greatest discovery of this year, I’d say Morast. We haven’t had the chance to see them live yet, but we hope to play with them someday.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
What we’re listening to the most right now are: Primitive Man, Morast, Decapitated, Caronte, Scour, Amenra, Ufomammut, Celeste, Chat Pile.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
The best advice I’ve ever been given is to learn how to do everything on your own.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Our guilty pleasures are too many… and way too illegal. Let’s move on to the next question.

Can you say something more about current music scene in Italy?
In Italy, there are so many incredible bands. In recent years, it seems like the rest of the world has also started to notice us. For example, Messa, who are absolutely killing it and rightfully so – they’ve made an amazing album. Then there’s Ufomammut, who have been a cornerstone of the genre for years. There’s also bands like Shores Of Null, Hierophant, Ponte del Diavolo, Caronte, Forgotten Tomb, Whiskey Ritual – all Italian bands operating at an incredibly high level.

Where can we see you live soon (concerts/tours)?
From the end of February, you can find us playing all over Italy, and in March, we’ll be in Poland and Germany. In July, we might even make it to Romania. We’ll post all the updates on Instagram and Facebook, so make sure to follow us there to stay updated on all the dates – there will be plenty of them!

What are your plans for the future as a band?
Our future plans are to release our new album, »Ossarium«, in February in the best way possible and to blow your eardrums across Europe with our new live show – for the rest of our days.

How can people best support your band?
The best way to support us is by buying our merch from our Bandcamp – we have some amazing T-shirts, and soon there will be even more new merch. And, of course, by listening to our new single, »Aten«, which is already out on Spotify. On January 21st, the second single »Morrigan« will be released, so stay tuned!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Our message to our listeners is: COME TO OUR SHOWS, you won’t regret it. Sludge until the end!

Thank you, guys, it’s been a pleasure. See you around!
