Berlin, Germany based post-metal band Katre join the Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records roster with »Gaia«, the first single from their upcoming third album, »Natura«, accompanied by a brand-new official video. Watch »Gaia« on YouTube now!

Blending crushing heaviness, expansive post-rock atmospheres and progressive elements, Katre have built their sound around ambitious narrative concepts. With »Natura«, they turn their focus to humanity’s relationship with the natural world, exploring grief, alienation, ancient memory and the devastating consequences of human arrogance.

Following »Encounters« (2017) and »Behind The Resilience« (2021), the new album marks another chapter in the band’s cinematic evolution, delivering their most direct confrontation with humanity’s impact on the world around us.

»Natura« is a book of wisdom written in the language of longing and loss, of memory and hope. Its chapters are songs, each a turning point, a question asked amidst the changing world around us. A solitary seeker journeys through pages searching for meaning and truth in a world that feels both beautiful and broken.

The journey begins in grief and alienation, among the ruins of a once-familiar place now changed. It moves through ancient memory and the rediscovery of wisdom, listening for the voices of those who once walked in kinship with all beings. It confronts the dark heart of human ambition and its planetary consequences, tracing the stain of progress through the Anthropocene and the tragic costs of abundance. At last, it arrives at a place of moral clarity, where the courage to speak truth, even at great risk, becomes the highest act of belonging.

»Natura« is both a lament and a summons: a testament to the ache of solastalgia, and an invitation to become, in the end, a parrhesiastes, a truth-teller for our time.

Mixed by Terry Nikas at Zero Gravity Studios and mastered by Dinos Prassas, »Natura« will be released via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
