Doomed Confessionary: Simon, Antonio, Tobias & Tage (Goia Paranoia)

Goia Paranoia is a four-piece psychedelic stoner/doom metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. They just released their debut album »Pandemonium Overdrive« on January 10th, 2025.
Goia Paranoia surely loves a balanced crowd, although, what they mean by that still remains a mystery. Through a doom-laden, psychedelic barrage of headbang-inducing noise, the cult of Goia’s doctrine is clear; to render a cataclysmic condemnation of the status quo. Innocent in their hustle, guilty by default – as always with unconditional adoration for the underdog.
Goia Paranoia are Simon Lindberg (vocals), Antonio Maglica (guitar, vocals), Tobias Näsström (bass) and Tage Andersson (drums).
Can you say a few words about your band?
Innocent in our hustle, guilty by default.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Keeping up with the financial struggles of being musicians.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Our debut album »Pandemonium Overdrive«.
What was your biggest regret?
No regrets. We live, we laugh and we learn.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Our first gig here in Gothenburg at the BlackValley Festival, just a great feeling to get back out there.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The support in the underground scene between bands, venues and music enthusiasts, it is really nice to see.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
We have been listening a lot to ‘Shooby Taylor, the human horn’ recently. While it may not be your traditional heavy soundtrack, it looms very heavy on our hearts.
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
“Don’t quit your day job, son,” said to our singer Simon by a fellow passenger on a flight to Scotland.
What are your guilty pleasures?
There’s a Swedish phenomenon known as “Varmboga”, which consists of drinking a 10.2% beer served between 50-55° degrees Celsius. Undoubtedly our biggest guilty pleasure.
Can you say something more about current music scene in Gothenburg?
Well there’s of course the legacy of the “Gothenburg sound”, which we aim to play our own spin on.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We are playing in our hometown in march but are also in talks with other venues in Sweden for the rest of the year. We are also looking at playing outside of our own country as well, any recommendations are more than welcome.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
We’re currently working on our second album going in a slightly different direction, but fear not, it will still be headbang friendly.
How can people best support your band?
Listening to our songs and buying the album on Bandcamp, NYP. We are currently working on getting our merch up there as well.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Do risk it like a buiscuit.
