Robot God are a psych space stoner rock band from Sydney, Australia, formed in early 2019. These lads offer a powerful blend of space rock, traditional stoner and psychedelia entwined brilliance that you would expect from more established acts in Europe and the US. Fans of Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and current acts such as Earthless, The Atomic Bitchwax and Elder would not be disappointed in what these guys are serving up.
These three seasoned musicians have a cosmic connection and together they have created a mammoth live set which delivers a monstrous wall of sound and a spiritual experience all at the same time. The trio effortlessly blend experimental space jams with elements of traditional stoner rock and doom to create a musical journey that is both powerful and haunting.
Robot God take song writing to the next level with many unexpected twists and turns, a lush fuzz filled soundscape greets the listeners senses for an out of body experience that you will want to relive time and time again. Robot God’s highly anticipated new album »Portal Within« was just released on April 26th, 2024 on vinyl via German label Kozmik Artifactz.
Robot God are Matt Allen (bass, vocals), Raff Iacurto (guitar, Vocals) and Tim Pritchard (drums).
Can you say a few words about your band?
Robot God is the melding of 3 eccentric musical minds to make sonic journeys for your listening pleasure.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
The music come pretty easily to us, however when we record we fuss over every little detail from mixing to the artwork, it can be a very callengeng process getting to a place where we are all happy with the finished work ready to release into the wild.
What can you be most proud of so far?
I feel very fortunate to have met Matt and Raff, and that we connect so well musically, and as a result we have made some really great records that we are super proud of.
What was your biggest regret?
Can’t say we really have any. Personally I regret not going to see Ronnie James Dio with Black Sabbath (Heven & Hell) in 2007 right before he passed. R.I.P. Dio.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Robot God recently opened for Brant Bjork, and getting to meet and have a good chat with the legend Mario Lalli was an absolute blast.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Just how difficult it is to organise and promote gigs, and put together good shows with other bands. Raff does so much of the behind the sceens work to make stuff happen!!!
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
That’s a hard question because there are so many records that are in constant rotation, I can speak for myself and say that Saint Karloff is a favorite, as well as Nick Disalvo’s Deliving, and of course Elder. Weedpecker, King Buffalo, Greenleaf, Dozer and Earthless get a fair few spins on my turntable!!

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Write music for yourself, stuff that you enjoy playing and listening to. Never try and craft music to please others.
What are your guilty pleasures?
All 3 of us have G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and are hopless tone chasers. I personally own more guitars, pedals and amps than any drummer should. Oh, and Nice Whiskey on ice!!!!
Can you say something more about the music scene in Sydney?
So, Robot God is from Sydney Australia which has a small but thriving underground music scene. we are priveliged to be a part of that scene, and love seeing the friends we have made come to our shows wearing our shirts and hats etc.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Plenty of shows planned up and down the east coast of Australia.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
We would really love to go overseas and play some festivals, do some shows in Europe or the US, and take what we do to the world.
How can people best support your band?
Well music loving legends, if you like what you hear, then please spread the word!! Send a link to a good music loving friend, we fund our recordings with record sales and merch, so if you buy a record or t-shirt, it helps us make the next record.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thank you so much to all the beautiful folks who are finding us and alowing your ears to be tickled with our little musical journeys, reach out and say hello on the socials, we love hearing from you!!
