Loud and sweaty psychedelic fuzz rock from the shadows of the prefabricated buildings of the central German province between Halle and Berlin. Guitars, driving synths, sometimes garnished with a sugar-sweet West Coast melody, sometimes with a noise crowbar. An outstanding debut, fresh, contemporary and with a touch of retro. Independent, playful and different.
Tommy And The Teleboys are a band that brings styles together, emulates role models and yet has its own sound and sounds different. They feed garage rock with psychedelia, try out post-punk, krautrock and electronica. An upbeat rhythm section and feverishly shimmering guitars prevent any stagnation. Danceable, groovy, wild and full of melodies. Then relaxed and floating again.
The basics were recorded at home, the bass and “10,000 guitar tracks were laid over it” in individual sessions and at some point the vocals were recorded in the rehearsal room, only to record synths and percussion at home again and so on and so forth. Given the large number of tracks, the mix took almost a year. DIY at its best.

The artwork was also created by themself. The blue and red “looked a bit noisy” and the basis is a battered, stone Gorgon/monster head that was photographed in the Archaeological Museum. A deity in poor condition. Used gods in good condition. “Gods, Used, In Great Condition”. As in music, it’s all about the details.
And the lyrics also relate to each other. It’s about Jesus fanatics, stuck conservative radicals, a self-absorbed Jeff Bezos and their conflicts in a dystopian but also beautiful (parallel) world: the Televerse.
Not a classic concept album but with a concept somehow, not a coincidence, but well thought out and skillful. And wild, playful, detached. It rocks, crashes and bangs. A debut album that is fun, bursting with ideas and perfect for those magical moments on the car radio… pull over, write down the band name and off to the nearest record store.
Make it loud.
