Chilean instrumental experimental/post-rock trio Desierto Cobra released reimagined version of their debut album

Santiago, Chile based instrumental experimental/post-rock trio Desierto Cobra is back with reimagined version of their debut album, »Desierto Cobra (Réimaginé)«, which was just released on August 31st, 2026.

Says the band: “Our self-titled album was born from the composition we had from 2008 to 2009, it was released in 2011, in this version (2026), we re-imagined the songs, remastered them and let them fly.”

Desierto Cobra was formed in late 2007 in Santiago, Chile, with the intention of exploring sound, experimenting with intense sonic layers and strident guitars. During their short existence, they recorded two instrumental albums, the first self-titled and the second titled »Trip Joda«. In 2026, after 15 years, they prepared to release their first full-length album, completely remixed and remastered by Rodrigo Olivares at El Olivar Studio.

Desierto Cobra comments: “In 2011, we released our first album: a self-produced, painstakingly crafted project, built with immense effort, conviction, and dedication.

Back then, we managed to make a few physical copies thanks to the help and friendship of great fellow travelers, @jesuseandola and Gerardo Salvo, who were fundamental in making that album a reality.

Now, 15 years later, we’re reopening that chapter. Our first album is reborn and available on digital platforms, in a version remixed by Rodrigo Olivares at El Olivar Studio.

A part of our story is back.”
