Fuzzing Nation is a three-piece stoner/desert rock band based out of Greece. Formed in December 2022 by Stavros Giannakos (bass), Terry Moros (drums) and Angelos Ioannidis (guitar/vocals), the trio take their inspiration from bands like Kyuss, Fu Manchu, The Hellacopters, Queens Of The Stone Age, 1000mods etc.

Stavros Giannakos and Angelos Ioannidis are members of the power/doom metal band Sorrows Path since 1996 and 1993 respectively, while they also participated in other bands of the 90s. Terry Moros had played in a lot of bands as InnerWish, Crystal Clear and solo artist Chryso Stamatopoulou.

Fuzzing Nation released two EP’s so far: »Fuzzing Nation« (2023) and »Into The Desert« (2024).

Can you say a few words about your band?
Fuzzing Nation was formed in 2022 by three friends, Angel, Terry and Stavros, who all came from heavy metal bands, but when they jammed together for the very first time, they grooved on stoner/desert vibes. The band released a self titled EP in 2023 and another EP named »Into The Desert« in 2024.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
The biggest challenge was finding our own unique voice in stoner/desert rock, which already has a strong identity. Balancing the heavy grooves and the laid-back psychedelic vibes without sounding like just another stoner band took some time. We wanted to stay true to the desert sound while at the same time incorporating our heavy metal roots.

What can you be most proud of so far?
We are really proud of the fact that within three years we’ve managed to release two EPs back-to-back and now we are working on our next first full length album which will be released in 2025. It’s incredibly satisfying to see our progress as we push to complete three releases in such a short amount of time. For us, maintaining this pace of creativity is a big achievement and we can’t wait to share the next chapter with our audience.

What was your biggest regret?
Our biggest regret might be not starting sooner. Once we jammed for the first time, it was clear that we had something special and we could have been creating this sound earlier. But in the end, every step along the way helped us shaping who we are today.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
We haven’t played live as Fuzzing Nation yet, but we’ve had several offers for the upcoming year and we’re really excited about it. We’re eager to hit the stage again, especially since we’ve spent at least two solid decades playing concerts with our previous bands. It’s something we really miss and we can’t wait to bring that energy to this project. We’re feeling strong and more motivated than ever to connect with the audience and bring our music to life on stage.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The music scene has been very vibrant and alive to stoner/desert rock, despite their roots in the ’70s. We’ve always admired bands like Black Sabbath and Kyuss and seeing how their influences are still resonating today is truly inspiring. The community around this scene remains passionate and supportive, proving that great music knows no age. It’s exciting to be part of this ongoing evolution and to contribute our own sound to it.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
We’ve been diving into a lot of stoner rock, particularly groups that masterfully blend stoner/desert and heavy rock. Their distinctive grooves and captivating melodies have a significant impact on our own music. We’re also keen on discovering newer acts in the scene that infuse fresh energy while honoring the heavy roots of the genre. It’s exciting to see how the stoner/desert rock community continues to evolve. We love being part of that journey.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Always be true to myself and to play what I genuinely feel. Music isn’t just about the classic process of writing, rehearsing and recording; it also encompasses the art of improvisation. Embracing spontaneity allows you to express yourself in a way that captures the moment and your true emotions. Creating music is ultimately for yourself first and then sharing that experience with others who can connect with it. Whether it’s through heartfelt lyrics or an improvised jam, the goal is to find those who relate to your journey. This advice has shaped the way I approach my music and helped me build meaningful connections with our audience.

What are your guilty pleasures?
I have a bit of a guilty pleasure when it comes to buy music gear. I just can’t resist picking up new guitars, pedals and amplifiers, even if I have already more than I might need. There’s something about exploring different sounds and finding the perfect piece of equipment that excites me. It’s like a never-ending quest to enhance my setup and I love every moment of it, even if I sometimes question my spending habits!

Can you say something more about current music scene in Greece?
The current music scene in Greece is thriving, especially within the stoner/desert rock genre. There are several outstanding bands making waves, such as Nightstalker, 1000mods, Acid Mammoth and Planet Of Zeus. These bands are not only prominent in our local scene but are also gaining recognition on the global stage. Their unique sounds and dedication to the craft are helping to elevate the stoner rock genre, making it an exciting time to be a part of this community. It’s inspiring to see how these bands are pushing boundaries and influencing both fans and upcoming artists.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
There aren’t any confirmed concert dates yet, but we have some exciting proposals in the works. Fans can stay updated on our shows through our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. While nothing is set in stone, we anticipate live performances as soon as possible!

What are your plans for the future as a band?
This band means a lot to each of us, especially as musicians who have been part of the music scene since the 1990s. At this stage of our lives, this project is everything to us. Right now we are focused on releasing our full length album in 2025 and at the same time we try to get our music heard and arrange as many live shows as possible. We are open to proposals and excited about any opportunities that come to our way in order to share our music with a wider audience.

How can people best support your band?
By purchasing our digital EPs available on Bandcamp, as well as our merchandise, like t-shirts. However, the simplest and most meaningful way to support us is by listening to our music, enjoying it and sharing it with others. Discovering our sound and connecting with it is what truly motivates us as musicians and we really appreciate every listening!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
As Fuzzing Nation, we take pride in our identity as a stoner/desert rock band that embraces the spirit of authenticity in our music. Our recordings are analog, as we firmly believe in the warmth and depth of analog sound, which perfectly complements our heavy grooves. We aim to create music that invites listeners to escape, feel and connect with the raw energy of life. Each track is a journey into the heart of heavy grooves, designed to resonate with you and inspiring to your own experiences. Thank you for being a part of our Fuzzing Nation family – together, let’s keep the music alive and vibrant!
